Rafael Nadal has said that he is very happy for Andy Murray who won the Olympic singles Gold medal after defeating Roger Federer in the final. He also congratulated Roger Federer and Juan Martin Del Potro who won the silver and the bronze medal respectively. As per Nadal, Murray has been playing well since the start of 2012. He has performed well in all the three grand slams this year. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to hold his nerves in the Wimbledon final, but, in the Olympics, he showed that he can perform well at the big stage.

Nadal said that he watched the final match between Murray and Federer and he enjoyed it a lot. As per Nadal, it is not easy to beat a player of the caliber of Roger Federer with such dominance. He absolutely thrashed Federer. After losing the Olympic final match against Murray, Roger Federer has also praised the British player. He said that Murray didn’t give him any chance in the match and played far better than him. As per Federer, though he hasn’t won the gold medal, but, he is pretty happy that he has won even the silver medal for his country. He said that an Olympic medal is always special; either it is silver or gold.

Meanwhile, like Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer has also decided to keep himself out of the Rogers Cup. On being asked about that, Federer said that he has played a lot of tennis in the recent times and the body needs a bit of rest. So, he has decided to spend some time with his family and get refreshed for the US Open. He said that the last few months have been very good for him and he would like to continue his good form in the US open as well.
