I have a challenge for all nadtards
I have a challenge for all fedtards, try finding one video in which federer lobs a tweener
96% lmao , you’re such a dreamer . I bet you’re not aware that a 17 year old baby nadal beat a prime federer on a hardcourt 6-3,6-3 in miami 2004
Because he beat Djokovic and Murray to win 17 grandslams without an injury in his career at the age of 30 when Nadal lost to an unknown player. Let’s see if Nadal can come close to that. He already seems like he is out. If he ever returns, he’ll probably try his luck on Clay alone.
It did not come close to the elegance of Federer’s tweener.
So people should hope Nadal comes back and gives us a spectacle that we can remember to share with our future generations. Be happy that we 3 players that have won a career grandslam ( Novak will win RG before he retires)
Guys. They’re all so cool. They possess different skill sets . What sets Rafa apart from the rest is his uniqueness . Except for Borg , there’s no other player who plays tennis the way that Nadal does. He doesn’t play traditional tennis. Many of his shots are unorthodox , to watch him is like witnessing something very unusual that won’t happen again for a few decades. From Borg to Nadal , it took 30 years . Wil there be another Rafa again?
AN OPEN LETTER TO ATPWORLDTOUR: I see tennis videos posted by amateur fans in 720 HD or better. How is it that a profitable business can only muster up 360p?
True. And I’m proud to say I’ve lived in the era of these guys, they took the sport to a whole new level
You speak well. Both have made their mark on tennis for sure and will be remembered.
Yeah, you’re totally right. Like I said, they both have things the other doesn’t, so I think overall they’re pretty much on the same level and it comes down to personal taste. And as a tennis player I’ve learned to enjoy watching and liking these two guys, because there’s so much you can learn from them! I do like them both, but I just support Federer when he plays Nadal. People that like one of the guys but hate the other are stupid and show they know nothing about tennis, right?
Precisely the point I made. You prefer Federer because you like his style and that is very much your right. However, it does not make him better, just more preferable to you. I must point out, however, that many do not share your preference, I indeed would prefer Nadal’s passion, banana shots and on court charisma. That in itself does not make either better, just says who we’d prefer to watch.
I think Federer plays the sport better because he’s got everything in the book, and he’s even got things that hadn’t made it to the books until he executed them. I can say a lot of things about Federer but in the end, what makes me prefer Federer is his game, because every move he does looks perfect on the eye, watching him play is amazing. I feel he also loves the sport more than anyone else. Federer has things Nadal doesn’t and vice-versa, so this argument ends up being pointless most times…
Your point is understood. However if, as you say, Nadal has the most effective playstyle, on what basis would one think Federer plays the sport better? Aesthetics? In that case, I leave each to his personal taste. However, if, like Nadal, one has a playstyle that enables him dominate on one surface and be at par with others on the remaining surfaces, I humbly submit that he plays the sport best overall. Appreciation of style depends on the viewer.
Of course it is legitimate. What I mean is that clay benefits Nadal a lot more than grass benefits Federer I think. Nadal’s playstyle forces opponents to play high above their shoulders with all the top spin, and surely, if you’re a tennis player you know how hard it is to play like that, and clay is a slow court which gives Nadal time to regroup and avoid backhands, etc. Nadal’s playstyle is probably the most effective, but playing the sport overall? I think Federer does it better.
And why would you take away the clay? Is it not a legitimate playing surface? Nadal is just as complete a player, even more so. Federer is barely ahead on grass and hard courts as it is. If Rafa dominates on his favourite surface, Roger also should on his but he does not. Go figure.
Lucky shot nothing more
I’m not a fan of Nadal, but that was an amazing point….Wow!
