24 Responses to Rafa Nadal, Uncle Toni and Oscar Borras.
On a technical level I agree with some changes of Mr Borras. I believe, however, he misses the point. It is the inward rotation of the shoulder in the preparation of service that prevents Nadal get more speed and better effects. Is the pull of the shoulder which makes rigid his serve.
The elbow moves the forearm. Bring the elbow to a position closer is a consequence of relaxing the shoulder and so avoid this uncomfortable position.
First let me say that the attitude of Oscar Borras is clumsy and conceited. Take credit for the success of Rafa at the U.S. Open is a symptom of narcissistic selfishness. Report against Rafa on this matter would qualify him as a bad teaching professional
This is a really interesting video! Thanks 🙂
Thanks for your comments and watching . Christophe.
all very simple and really this is the progressions that every coach goes through with a beginner/child. Funny that sometimes the pros just have to go back through the complete basics in order to improve.
thats the most tricked out ball cart i have ever seen…
I mean a link in the area under the video before the tags
Thank you for your comments and for watching Christophe.
I just did thank you. I did not at first since the video was more about what Oscar did.
Christophe
great video again, very very helpful
you really should have a link to your website in the description
as soon as he had to pay him probably
They never had to hit a moving ball that was made to make you miss. Show me a video of someone shooting golf balls at tiger woods while he hits them all cross court into a hole the size of a cup.

Didn’t Rafa criticized Borras publicly on an interview, saying he wasted his time with him? Apparently the guy who serves him as family and coach is too well found of his doctrine to admit that 19mph is a substantial empirical proof of his incapacity.
great vid
Thank you for the answer and the great videos
Sorry I lost track of the thread. Yes Rafa lost his rhythm and motion through out 2011 .It was definitely obvious in the 2011 US Open Finals when he got broken 7 times by Nole. Rafa has always struggled with his serve through out his career. Thanks for watching. Christophe.
Did I ask the wrong question?
Thank you, and thank you for watching. Christophe.
Great video.
Roddick’s backhand is another example.Touch might be hard to acquire, but there is no excuse for bad technique IMO, it just makes your own life harder. In terms of technique, tennis is far behind golf – many tennis pros are athletic and work their butt off which is great, but don’t pay enough attention to the details.
Look it up at US Open.org match stats. I compared the fastest serves between both years. Surely Toni saw it but he does not know how to fix it that is obvious, his motion is still off as of 2012. Thanks for watching. Christophe
You are correct it was obvious to me but somehow every so called TV experts missed it….Talking about flaws how about Andy Roddicks Backhand! Thanks for watching
